Our Story

Both Shirley and Donal are passionate believers in social justice and the dignity and respect for all human beings and the natural world. We are driven by excellence and the highest ethics. We firmly believe people should have a choice in terms of their mental health care. We have combined experience of 35 years working in the areas of mental health practice, mental health research, psychology, social work and health care.

Not only do we think it’s important to think outside the box, but it’s more important to think outside the system that created that box. We believe that nature-based interventions such as Forest Bathing and Integrative Forest Therapy should be used within health services and systems globally, so people who are struggling the most can experience the therapeutic power of nature.

We support the reconnection of people to nature by reintroducing them to the immense beauty, awe and wonder that is sometimes forgotten or overlooked since childhood. All of our trainings and interventions utilise the latest cutting-edge research on human health and the environment, international nature connection practices, expressive arts, and wisdom from ancient traditions.

Our Values

Integrity & Authenticity
Impact Focus
The ancient rhythms of the earth have insinuated themselves into the rhythms of the human heart. The earth is not outside us; it is within us: the clay from where the tree of the body grows – John O’ Donohue.
We often forget that we are nature. Nature is not something separate from us.
So, when we say that we have lost our connection to nature. We have lost our connection to ourselves – Andy Goldsworthy
The deadening of our senses is at the heart of the environmental crisis and… reawakening them is an integral step towards renewing our bond with the earth – Laura Sewall
It is in the space of wonder, wisdom and often in the silences contributed by nature that we are gifted with the capacity of recovering such a healing, wholeness as we have lost in a civilisation that has insisted on the utility of meaningless dualism – Micheal D. Higgins
